Dr. Suman Shrestha, MD.PhD.,FANMB is a highly accomplished graduate of Gunma University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan. His academic journey has been marked by significant achievements and specialized training in the field of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.

Key Highlights:

Postgraduate Training in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine: Dr. Shrestha completed his doctoral studies at Gunma University, Japan where he delved into cutting-edge research and gained expertise in diagnostic imaging techniques.

Hybrid Imaging and Theranostics: His passion for innovation led him to further training at Essen University, Germany, where he honed his skills in hybrid imaging and theranostics—a field that combines diagnostic imaging with targeted therapy.

Interventional Radiology and Advanced Ultrasound Applications: Dr. Shrestha’s commitment to excellence extended to postdoctoral clinical training at Gunma University, Japan. Here, he specialized in interventional radiology and advanced ultrasound applications.

Asian Nuclear Medicine Board Certification: Dr. Shrestha achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first Nepalese nuclear medicine physician to pass the competitive fellowship exams of the Asian Nuclear Medicine Board. His certification ensures that the Nepal Center of Nuclear Medicine adheres to the high standards set by the board.

Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) Future Leaders Academy: In 2023, Dr. Shrestha graduated from the prestigious SNMMI Future Leaders Academy in the United States. His leadership has been instrumental in establishing this center which is the first in Lalitpur housing the first premium SPECT scanner of GE (USA) in Nepal. 

Scholarships and Awards: Dr. Shrestha’s academic journey was supported by scholarships from the Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal, and Ministry of Science, Education, Culture and Technology, Government of Japan. He received scholarships for both his MBBS studies at the College of Medical Sciences, Nepal, and his doctoral studies in Japan.

International Presence: Dr. Shrestha actively participates in international conferences, representing both Japan and Nepal. His contributions to the field have been recognized with the Dean’s award at Gunma University.

Reviewer and Member: Currently, Dr. Shrestha serves as a reviewer for two esteemed journals: “European Radiology” (published by the European Society of Radiology) and “Annals of Nuclear Medicine” (the official journal of the Japanese Nuclear Medicine Society). Additionally, he is a member of the Asian-Oceanian Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (AOFNMB), European Society of Radiology (ESR), Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI, USA), British Nuclear Medicine Society (BNMS), Japan Radiology Society (JRS), Japan Society of Nuclear Medicine (JSNM), European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), European Society for Hybrid, Molecular and Translational Imaging (ESHI MT), and the World Association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (WARMTH).

Dr. Manis Tiwari is the specialist in Nuclear Medicine. He completed his training at St. Luke's Hospital in Philippines. He studied MBBS in Nobel Medical College in Nepal.
